Overview
Research in Motion (RIM), the creator of BlackBerry devices, has just released their newest smartphones running on the newest BB10 OS: the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10. Z10 is a full-touch smartphone, while the Q10 is reminiscent of former BlackBerry phones, as it has a QWERTY keyboard. We'll talk about Z10 in this article.
Specifications
The BlackBerry Z10 is RIM's answer to the full-touch trend. It packs a 4.2" WXGA capacitive touchscreen with a 768 x 1280 pixels resolution (355 ppi) and 16M colors, a powerful Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon 1.5 GHz dual-core Krait processor, Adreno 225 GPU, 16GB internal storage (expandable with a memory card up to 32GB), and, 2GB of RAM.
On the camera side, it has an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, that is capable of recording 1080p resolution videos at 30fps. A 2MP camera is on the front that is capable of recording 720p videos also at 30fps.
Other specs include: accelerometer, gyro, compass, and proximity sensors, 3G/LTE/Bluetooth/WiFi/NFC connectivity, A-GPS, micro-USB (2.0) port, JAVA MIDP 2.1, and Blackberry Maps.
Special features include:
- BlackBerry Hub (much like an organizer)
- BlackBerry Keyboard, for "effortless typing experience"
- BBM screen share, a video chat feature that lets you show photos and your browser, and review documents together while talking face to face; and
- Camera with Time Shift Mode, for taking the perfect shot
Of course, it will run on BlackBerry 10 OS, and, will be powered by a 1800 mAh battery.
Pricing and Availability
According to GSMArena, it will cost about €440 or approximately PHP 24,250! It will be expected to go on shelves soon.
