Alcatel One Touch Inspire 2: 4" 1GHz Android phone on Jellybean

There's the Glory 2 (S'Pop), the Sapphire 2 (X'Pop), and of course, what's left is the Inspire 2 (M'Pop)! (By the way, about the Pop phones: X'Pop is for Extra large, M'Pop is for Medium, and S'Pop is for small.) Inspire 2 is a big leap to the disappointing Inspire 991D.

The Alcatel One Touch Inspire 2 sports a 4.0" WVGA TFT capacitive touchscreen that has 480 x 800 pixel resolution and 16M colors, a Mediatek MT6575 1GHz single-core processor, 4GB ROM (1.4GB user memory, expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card), and, a 512MB RAM.

It has the same 5MP AF rear camera with Sapphire 2 but without the LED flash, which is capable of recording 720p videos at 30fps (frames per second). A VGA camera is at the front for your video chats.

Other specs include: 3G/WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, Proximity/Light/Gravity sensors, A-GPS, micro-USB (2.0) port, FM Radio, and HD Voice.

It will be powered by a 1400 mAh battery, which should have been bigger because of the large screen. It will also run on Android 4.1 Jellybean just like his siblings.

There are lots of colors to choose from: black, aubergine, cherry red, ocean blue, slate, hot pink, tangerine, turquoise, apple green, and pure white.

Alcatel Mobile Philippines hasn't announced it yet on Facebook so no pricing and exact availability date info yet.

Alcatel One Touch Inspire 2 (M'Pop) is a nice upgrade from the somewhat disappointing specs of Inspire 991D. What's just missing is the dual-sim function, which Alcatel hasn't added to their newly-released models. Would you buy this one in case? Tell us by commenting below.

UPDATE: It is dual-sim! The US version is the one with only a single sim.
