Alcatel One Touch Sapphire 2: a 4.5" qHD dual-core powered Android phone

Along with the Alcatel One Touch Glory 2 (S'Pop), the Scribe HD, and the Ultra Idol, two more phones from the original One Touch Pop series are set to arrive here, the One Touch X'Pop and the M'Pop, which will be locally called One Touch Sapphire 2 and One Touch Inspire 2, respectively. We'll talk about the Sapphire 2 in this article.

The Alcatel One Touch Sapphire 2 (known internationally as Alcatel One Touch X'Pop), the successor of the Alcatel One Touch 995 Sapphire, packs a 4.5" qHD TFT capacitive touchscreen that has 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16M colors (so expect a crisp and vivid display),  a powerful Mediatek MT6577 1GHz dual-core processor, 4GB ROM (1GB user memory, expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card, and, a 512MB RAM.

On the photography department, Sapphire 2 has a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, that is capable of recording 720p videos at 30fps, and a VGA front camera for your video chatting needs.

It has the usual 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth (4.0) connectivity, as well as proximity, light, and gravity sensors. A-GPS, FM Radio, HD Voice and Noise Cancellation features are also present.

Battery capacity is at 1800 mAh. It will be running on Android 4.1 Jellybean OS, which is good. It will come on a lot of colors: black, aubergine, cherry red, ocean blue, slate, hot pink, tangerine, turquoise, apple green, and pure white.

The Alcatel One Touch Sapphire 2 is priced at PHP 6,990 and is available now on major gadget stores nationwide.
