Upcoming Lenovo S890 gets teased

Lenovo Mobile Philippines has posted a teaser photo of an upcoming Android phone, presumably the Lenovo S890, in their Facebook page today.

'The upsize of upsized,' as what Lenovo says about it, the Lenovo S890 is the successor of the 5-incher Lenovo S880. It was announced January this year and is already available on some countries (China, etc).

Here are the full specs of the Lenovo S890:
  • 5" LCD IPS TFT multi-touch capacitive touchscreen
    • 540 x 960 pixels, 16M colors, 220ppi
  • Mediatek MT6577T Dual-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A9
  • PowerVR SGX531
  • 4GB internal memory
    • expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card
  • 8MP rear camera w/ LED flash (autofocus)
    • 720p resolution video recording
  • VGA front camera
  • Accelerometer/proximity sensors
  • 3G/Bluetooth/WiFi connectivity
  • microUSB 2.0
  • FM Radio
  • dual-sim
  • Android 4.1 Jellybean
  • 2250 mAh battery
The Lenovo S890 is a great upgrade to its lesser brother, the S880. It packs the same 5" screen but is now on IPS (in-plane switching = better viewing angles and has a better resolution. The processor is now dual-core compared to the single core of S890, so users are assured of a greater performance. The RAM also has been doubled, now at a gig.

On the camera side, the 8MP with LED flash will surely give you better shots in normal and low-light conditions.

On the software, it runs on 4.1 Jellybean which is a plus for many, compared to S880 on ICS.

The battery, rated at 2250 mAH, should give you at least a day or more.

The Lenovo S880 costs PHP 11,500. Of course, the Lenovo S890 would be pricier, maybe PHP 12,500 more or less, not sure though. Colors are black, blue, and white.

UPDATE: It's now available for PHP 12,999 and comes with a case.
